Man U's Evra vows to take revenge against 'biggest rival' Chelsea

London, Nov 5(ANI): Ahead of Sunday's Premier League game against Chelsea, Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has said that the Blues are their biggest rivals for the title, and has vowed to take revenge for all the personal misery he has suffered against them.

Evra was banned for four games and fined 15,000 pounds by the FA for his part in an ugly post-match brawl with Chelsea groundstaff at Stamford Bridge in April 2008. When he made his return from that ban, ironically against the same club, he was injured and sidelined for a month, which caused him to miss a further seven games.

"If you ask me for the one game that I want to win above all others each season it's the game at Chelsea. They're our biggest rivals for the title, so we need to be strong. It's a long time since we won there, so it's about time we put that right. Every time I play them something bad happens. There was the trouble on the pitch after one game, then this season there was the incident with Ballack," The Mirror quoted Evra, as saying.

"I have to make sure nothing happens this time. I just want to have a good memory and enjoy playing against Chelsea. But, I've never lost against them when I've started. We lost in the Community Shield, but I never lose when I am in the team from the start, so I want that to continue," he added.

Despite having claimed the Premier League title for the past three seasons, United go into Sunday's encounter as underdogs, with one win at Chelsea in their last 11 visits.

However, the 28-year-old claims that such statistics will serve only to motivate them even further and inspire them to pull off a major shock by beating Ancelotti's men at home.

"I like it when people say we're not favourites. The most important thing is that when the game starts, it's 50-50. But, I know what people think. People think we're going there to lose. That's good motivation for us," Evra said. (ANI)
