India must achieve permanent reconciliation in J-K: PM

Srinagar, Oct 29 (ANI): Pushing for peace talks in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Thursday said the Centre will extend full support to the State Government in achieving its goal of development and peace.

 

Addressing a press conference here, Dr. Singh said: "My appeal for peace dialogue will be reciprocated."

 

Expressing a willingness to engage in a discussion with all groups, he said that India must achieve permanent reconciliation in the valley.

 

Announcing a Rs 350 cr package for the protection of the Dal and Nagin Lakes, he further said that the need of the hour is to implement the development agenda for economic revival.

 

Asking Pakistan to bring terror machineries under control, the Prime Minister said that talks with Pakistan cannot go ahead alongwith terror.

 

Reacting on Pakistan's allegations in India's involvement in unrest of Balochistan, the Prime Minister said that there is no basis for Islamabad's allegations.

 

Terming the Maoists as a 'big threat' to the nation, he said, there is a need for a holistic approach to tackle Naxalism. (ANI)
