London, Oct.27 (ANI): Brazilian football star Robinho has said that he is ready to quit Manchester City to be the best player in the world.
The unsettled 32.5 million pound striker said he had more of a chance of achieving his ambition by playing at Barcelona rather than at Eastlands.
According to The Mirror, the latest revelation is certain to anger coach Mark "Sparky" Hughes, who only last week told Mirror Sport he had no intention of selling Brazil star Robinho in the January transfer window.
But Robinho's constant hankering for a move and disruptive influence may ultimately force Hughes to change his mind to preserve unity and morale within his squad.
"I'm very happy about the interest that Barcelona have in me," Robinho told Brazilian radio station Radio Bandeirantes.
"Playing in the Nou Camp it is much easier to be the best player in the world than at City," he added.
"I'm not forcing a hypothetical exit from England and neither do I have problems with my coach," said Robinho.
Barcelona have made no secret of their desire to sign Robinho in January and are willing to match the record-breaking 32.5 m pound fee that City paid Real Madrid for the forward 14 months ago. (ANI)
