London, Oct 26 (ANI): Theatre stalwart Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, is adamant to return to work as soon as possible.
The musical veteran had kept the troubling news a closely guarded secret for weeks, and it was only yesterday that it was finally revealed he has prostate cancer.
The composer behind hit musicals such as 'Evita', 'Phantom of the Opera', 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Cats and Starlight Express', vowed in true showbiz style: "The show will go on," reports The Mirror.
The English composer has told friends that he intends to be back at work by the end of the year.
Lord Lloyd Webber, 61, began treatment for the disease on Saturday evening after being admitted to an undisclosed private hospital.
While he has put all his immediate commitments on hold, but is apparently confident of an early return to his hectic West End schedule.
His spokesperson said: "Andrew's condition is in its very early stages. He is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year." (ANI)
