Abu Dhabi, Oct 26(ANI): On the eve of ODI series against New Zealand, Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi has denied reports of a rift with captain Younis Khan.
Earlier, it was reported that Afridi, who will captain the team in two Twenty20 internationals against New Zealand next month, was rumoured to have been one of the disruptive elements within the side, following which there were some disagreements with Younis.
"I am fed up of the thousand and one stories doing the rounds about me and Younis not getting along, my lust for captaincy and the like," The New Zealand Herald quoted Afridi, as saying.
"Younis and I go a long way as friends, almost 15 years. We won the world Twenty20 in June under Younis' leadership, and there's no reason why I should not back him for leading the team and the country to more laurels,"
Pakistan will play three one-day internationals on November 3, 6 and 9 in Abu Dhabi, and two Twenty20 internationals in Dubai on November 12 and 13, in a series which was relocated to the United Arab Emirates over security fears. (ANI)
