New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI): Popular designer, Rina Dhaka showcased her collection 'Spring Summer 2010' on the second day of 'Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week' being staged in New Delhi on Sunday.
Models sashayed down the ramp wearing attires made up of fabrics like cotton, muslin, voile, handlooms, linen, jersey, plisse and lace.
Dhaka's collection was primarily based on the colours - ivory and brown shades.
"I am showing Spring Summer 2010. We use a lot of indigenous, which is the old metal embellishment, the buttons specially made for these clothes, a tea staining to give it a vintage look on the cording and then the complete modern elements trying to dwell in 80's, 90's silhouettes and bring a contemporary fashion look of today's time for you guys...it was basic palette ivory, black, brown black," said Dhaka.
The collection was mix of late eighties, early nineties and a bit of contemporary enhancement. Also, the focus was on the necklines and off shoulder attires through subtle that looked stunning.
Embellishments used such as Dori, chord, metal, buttons and beads made attires look more appealing.
When asked about effects of recession on the fashion industry, Rina said Indian fashion industry was able to overcome it.
"Recession became quite a recession, actually I must say we survive because we live in India. We survive also we have weddings, we have culture, we have functions that keep us running throughout the seasons," she added.
The current 'Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week' will witness 110 designers displaying their collection and at least 48 models displaying their creations.
The 14th edition of India's biggest fashion trade event will culminate on October 28.
The 'Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week' is regarded as the apt cohesive platform for connoisseurs of life-style and Indian fashion to witness the recent trends in cutting edge design, style and business. (ANI)
