Hyderabad, Oct 23(ANI): With the mega-rich Champions League on the verge of conclusion, Australian champions New South Wales (NSW) are perplexed with the "mind-boggling" money which they will earn out of it.
NSW, who defeated Victoria in the semi-finals, have already been guaranteed a pay cheque of 1.3 million dollars for merely reaching the decider. But, more is up for grabs if they are able to defeat Trinidad and Tobago in the final.
The anticipation is such that NSW boss David Gilbert has termed the final "a million-dollar cricket match."
"The money is mind-boggling. So far, so good, but there's still a lot of resolve in the team to go all the way. The money is incredibly lucrative, and no one is denying that. For the players, especially some of the lesser lights, it's the chance to have a real windfall," The Sydney Morning Herald quoted Gilbert, as saying.
Victory in the final is worth 2.5 million dollars, and flow-on effects of being the champions include future sponsorship deals with cashed-up companies and a powerful new brand awareness in the ultra-competitive Australian market. (ANI)
