72 percent of fans back England for World Cup glory

London, Oct. 16 (ANI): England fans are convinced that Fabio Capello's men can win the World Cup next summer.

 

A massive 72 per cent who took part in a Sun Sport poll believe England's name will be on the glittering gold trophy in South Africa.

 

Most believe it is Capello himself who has given the Three Lions the best chance of ending 44 years of hurt.

 

Fan Guido Pani said: "Yes, we can win - thanks to the manager. He is a perfectionist who pays attention to every detail. And the players are all at their peak and have enough experience to carry us all the way."

 

Londoner Alex Henchley said: "England have the belief and team structure to bring out the best in Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard."

 

Gary Hobart of Liverpool roared: "Why shouldn't we win it. We have a strong spine and players who can produce those true moments of magic."

 

Nick Bussey, an England nut from Kettering, believes: "Other countries can't handle the English."

 

Steve Parker, of Manchester, said: "It's our time - we can't always lose in the quarter-finals."

 

Nigel Berg, of Essex said: "We can win the World Cup because if Fabio chooses the right players in attack we can be a match for anyone in the world."

 

Chris Baker of Hatch End said: "Fabio will instill the belief, confidence and discipline we need."

 

Londoner Martin Tansley said: "Our best team is capable of beating anyone on their day."

 

Spain is seen as the biggest danger to England's World Cup dream.

 

Fans reckon the strike power of Fernando Torres and David Villa means the 2008 Euro kings will also rule the world.ver half - 53.5 per cent - of those polled back the Spaniards, with 28 per cent for Brazil. (ANI)
