Spurious clarified butter seized in Jaipur

Jaipur, Oct 14 (ANI): Rajasthan police and enforcement officials of the Food and Civil Supplies Department in Jaipur seized nearly 6000 litres of adulterated clarified butter (ghee) on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, officials raided a unit manufacturing spurious ghee at Jaipur's Phulera town.

In the factory premises adulterated ghee of more than six famous brands was being packed.

"We raided this place after receiving information that a factory is engaged in manufacturing huge quantities of ghee with several brand names under a single roof. We found huge quantities of ghee in which essence was mixed and we could smell it proving its clear adulteration," said Abha Jain, District Supplies Officer (rural), Jaipur.

Although the authorities have sealed the factory premises and have taken the samples for testing, no arrests have been made so far. (ANI)
