Infiltration bid foiled in Jammu and Kashmir

Gurez (J-K), Oct 10 (ANI): Army foiled an infiltration bid from across the border by killing two militants in Gurez Sector of Jammu and Kashmir this morning.

 

According to sources, troops guarding the border noticed suspicious movement on the border. They confronted them and asked them to surrender but militants opened fire and in the ensuing encounter, two militants were killed.

 

The operation was going on when last reports were received.

 

On Friday, Jammu and Kashmir Police assisted by the army and the CRPF foiled an attempted fidayeen (suicide) strike by killing Hizbul terrorist Omar Maviya.

 

A huge cache of ammunition including 30 kilograms of RDX, suicide vests with wires and two batteries, two grenades and an AK-47 were recovered.

 

Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF had earlier killed three militants, including two belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba in a fierce gunbattle in south Kashmir. (ANI)
