London, October 10 (ANI): Steven Spielberg's 1982 classic E.T has been voted the greatest alien film ever.
The movie starring a young Drew Barrymore was voted as the favorite in a poll of 7,675 film fans conducted by phone recycling website PhonePiggyBank.com.
The film beat Will Smith's Men In Black, which ranked in the second place, followed by Independence Day at the third.
"E.T. is a film for the whole family. It is emotionally-charged, funny and engaging and will never be equalled in terms of its originality and global appeal," the Telegraph quoted a spokesman for the website that carried out the study, as saying.
"It is a worthy winner and it actually beat a string of bigger budget movies to come top.
"This shows that quite often the golden oldies are better than more modern flicks," the rep added.
