Johannesburg, Oct.3 (ANI): Middle-order batsman Mohammad Yousuf has said Pakistan would be favourites against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy's semifinal.
Yousuf said his side has played brilliant cricket in the tournament so far due to which the morale of the team was high.
"We have fought and played well in all of our three games so far.The entire team gave a good performance and our morale is high. I think we are favourites in the semi-final and I hope we win this match. Anything can happen in one-day cricket, but if you consider the performances of both the sides, I think we have an upper hand," he said.
Yousuf termed the match against Australia, which Pakistan lost, as the team's best performance in the Champions Trophy.
He said the in-form Pakistani spinners had provided the team with an edge over the other teams.
"The advantage is that our spin bowling is very good. With the arrival of Ajmal, our spin bowling has been strengthened. Ajmal and Afridi have been bowling really well in recent times. This is the main reason why our team has reached the semi-final here," Yousuf said. (ANI)
