Srinagar, Sep. 22 (ANI): The firecrackers' market in Srinagar is witnessing a surge in sales on the occasion of Eid- ul- Fitr festival.
Firecracker sellers are doing good business as many children are purchasing various crackers to celebrate the occasion.
"We are happy as we are doing good business during Eid (Muslim festival) and forthcoming Diwali (Hindu festival). Our market is known for selling crackers," said Ghulam Muhammad, President pf Firecrackers Shop Association.
Maharaj Bazaar in Srinagar is famous for crackers. There are almost 40 shops of firecrackers and almost every shopkeeper is happy with the huge rush for these firecrackers.
"During Eid (Muslim festival) Kashmiri children buy crackers in good numbers and Hindus buy crackers during Diwali. The sale of crackers in our shop in a day is around 1 Lakh to 1.50 Lakhs (Rupees) and in the whole market it is around two to four Lakhs, " said Abdul Rashid, Firecracker Shopkeeper.
The firecrackers are selling like hot cakes and the reason behind this is the excitement of the customers during festive season.
"Eid (Muslim festival ) comes just once in a year . So we want to enjoy and fire more crackers," said Ejaz Ahmad , Customer.
Without firecrackers any festival looks incomplete, particularly for children, he adds. (ANI)
