The seven-year-old leopard was retrieved from a tea garden. It had reportedly gone missing from its cage at the Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary of Gurumara North range division II in Jalpaiguri for a week.
He was picked up from the Zurran tea estate of Doars Jalpaiguri in West Bengal on Saturday morning.
"We trapped the leopard as it was frequently attacking people of the area," said Debarun Burman, a forest official, Binnaguri Escort, Garumara North Range Wild Life II.
The leopard is now roaming in the Chapramari forests. (ANI)
