In 2008 February the Moroccan Police arrested 36 people because of their association with Abdelkader Belliraj. The authority of Belgian-Moroccan said that Abdelkader Belliraj is chief the local branch of Al-Qaeda.
In 2008 July the Moroccan Police arrested 35 people for their alleged role in hiring assistants for Al-Qaeda in Morocco and Algeria. They were also planning an attack over Morocco.
