The Factors that determine various stages of breast cancer

In majority of cases the size of the tumor in the breast actually determines the stage of the breast cancer. The size of the tumor varies in accordance to the depth and density of the disease and this is the reason why the tumor and its size play so crucial a role in the determination of various stages of cancer. The second most important determinative factor in diagnosing various stages of breast cancer is the spread of the cancerous cells. Whether the cancerous cells have spread to all the lymph nodes of the breast or outside of the breast in other parts of the body actually determines the various stages of breast cancer. Another determinative factor in the diagnosis of various stages of breast cancer is how far the spread of the cancerous cells happened to cover the lymph nodes of the breast or in other word to say to what extent the lymph nodes of the breast is affected by the spread of the cancerous cells. In most advanced stages of breast cancer the cancerous cells can spread as far as the lymph nodes above your collar bones or under your arm pit or even further.
