Coach Marine Told Indian Girls To Opt For Pro-Active Play
The Indian women's hockey team entered the finals of the Asian Games for the first time since 1998, after defeating World No. 11 China 1-0. Coach Sjoerd Marine put things into perspective by saying he told the girls go from being reactive to pro-active.
Interestingly, Marine told the girls India had lost to Ireland in a final because they kept being reactive. Good teams take charge, create chances and intensify pressure. They don’t indulge in reactive play. This message was followed in the last quarter by India.
