London, May 21(ANI): Ailing boxing legend Frank Bruno pulled out of a charity midnight trek, which ended early, due to concerns over its affecting his mental condition.
Bruno was supposed to join 1,000 walkers in his first public appearance since being hospitalized with exhaustion last month.
Bruno sent a video message, which was flashed on a big screen as walkers set off to raise money for a hospital.
"I'm sorry I cannot be with you tonight due to illness," the Sun quoted Bruno's message, as saying.
An announcer at Scotland's Ayr Racecourse confirmed: "He has been taken back into hospital."
Bruno's agent said of the ex-fighter, who nine years ago was sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
"Frank is continuing his treatment. He is undergoing his rehabilitation, taking medicines and getting plenty of rest because he is bipolar. The Ayr event was in the middle of the night. With bipolar you have to get plenty of sleep in a regular pattern," said Bruno's agent. (ANI)
