Yoga Guru Ramdev ties up with retail giant Future Group to sell ayurvedic products

New Delhi, Oct 09 (ANI): Yoga guru Baba Ramdev entered into a partnership with retail giant Future Group on Friday to sell its Patanjali Ayurved products through latter's stores. The announcement was made at an event in New Delhi by Ramdev and Future Group's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Kishore Biyani. The group operates some of India's biggest retail chains including Big Bazaar, eZone, Brand Factory and Home Town. Patanjali Ayurved offers an entire range of FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) products that include food, staples, nutrition and hair products among others. With this tie-up, Future Group gets an exclusive right to sell Patanjali products in its outlets like Nilgiris, Food Bazaar, Food Hall and Big Bazaar. Ramdev said his products will get a wider reach now. Patanjali Ayurved has surpassed listed companies like Proctor and Gamble, Emami and Jyothy Labs in terms of annual revenue, said media reports. The company is set to launch noodles next week in order to occupy the space made by Nestle's Maggi after it was banned across India for containing lead in excess amount. Meanwhile, Biyani said the partnership aims to make healthy and ayurvedic products available to more people.
