Women and children tie rakhi to PM Modi
New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): Women and school girls on Saturday tied rakhi or
sacred thread to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion on Raksha
Bandhan. Women from housewives to widows to women from other walks of life
tied rakhis on the wrist of the prime minister. Even young school girls tied
rakhi to PM. Some even posed for photographs with PM Modi. The prime
minister also shared a little moment with the kids and had sweets offered by
them. Some even took his autograph as rememberance. Raksha Bandhan is a
Hindu festival that celebrates the love and duty between brothers and
sisters. On Raksha Bandhan, sisters tie a rakhi (sacred thread) on her
brother's wrist. This symbolizes the sister's love and prayers for her
brother's well-being, and the brother's lifelong vow to protect her.
