Vocational training for specially abled

Vishakhapatnam, July 29 (ANI): With an aim to preserve traditional handicrafts Andhra Pradesh council for science and technology (APCOST) along with Andhra University has organized a four month long vocational training programme for the specially abled people in Vishakhapatnam. The program was introduced in Omkar and Lion School for the Deaf and Dumb in Visakhapatnam, where the school in tandem with Sri Shanti Ashram, a home for the deaf and mute children, identified and proposed training children who have passed class Xth in the making of handicrafts from bamboo. Associate professor from the department of Architecture, Andhra University College of Engineering, A Revathi Devi commented on the lack of acceptable learning opportunities available for the specially abled in India.
