Two arrested for trying to smuggle cobra venom in West Bengal

Jalpaiguri, Sep 01 (ANI): Forest officials arrested two men trying to smuggle snake venom in West Bengal. The officials made the arrest after they were alerted. They ambushed the two accused at Buniadpur, near the Bangladesh border and made the arrest. The seized king cobra venom was worth rupees 50 crore. Five sample packets with the name 'Red Dragon' and 'Made in France' were also seized from their possession, along with a revolver. Snake venom is used to treat snake bites. Reports say some compounds of the expensive venom are used in anti-cancer treatment.
