Security personnel gun down two Maoists in Jharkhand

Latehar, March 28 (ANI): Security forces gunned down two Maoists during an encounter in Latehar district in Jharkhand. In a joint operation, state police and security personnel of India's paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a search operation. The Maoists, who were in hiding, fired at the security personnel. The encounter resulted in killing of two Maoists and injuring one. The rebels belonged to Communist Party of India-Maoists. On March 21, security forces had busted a Maoist hideout in Bihar and recovered around 500 kilograms of explosives. The Maoists, also known as Naxals in India, are inspired by the political philosophy of China's late Chairman Mao Zedong.
