Reactions pour in after govt announced implementation of OROP

New Delhi/ Ludhiana, Sept 05 (ANI): Reactions from various political parties pored in on Saturday after the central government announced the implementation of One Rank One Pension for retired army personnel, ending a long awaited demand of the ex-servicemen. Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured that the government will look into shortcomings, if any, in the scheme. BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government, said it is a big step for the veterans. He added Congress planned Rs 500 crore for ex-servicemen but NDA has announced Rs 8000 crore worth of scheme. Congress leader Anand Sharma alleged that PM promised OROP without any conditions and now they changed it. Congress also condemned the remarks of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar saying last government did the tokenism only. AAP leader Sanjay Singh supported ex-servicemen and said that until or unless all the demands of veterans are not fulfilled, AAP will be supporting the ex-servicemen.
