Police foil bid to smuggle 2,400 liquor bottles into Kashmir

Kathua, Oct 10 (ANI): Police arrested a person, associated with paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF), during an attempt to smuggle 2,400 liquor bottles into Jammu and Kashmir. The bottles were recovered during the search of a truck, which was supposedly carrying household items, at a toll booth in Kathua district. Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, TK Bhat said the driver managed to flee but another person was arrested. Deputy Excise Commissioner Rajesh Sharma said the consignment was smuggled from neighbouring state of Haryana because of its low price. Police have registered a case and investigation is on to nab the culprits.
