Police arrest hardcore Maoist in Gaya
Gaya, July 07 (ANI): Acting on a tip off, police arrested a hardcore Maoist in Bihar with extortion money worth five Lakh rupees. Talking to mediapersons in Gaya, Superintendent of Police, Babu Ram said that a group of Maoist cadres had gone to collect extortion money from a construction company owner when the police laid trap for them and arrested Shravan Manjhi. In the last few years, the rebels have stepped up their efforts against the government as well as the locals, after various locals complained that Maoist activities such as killings and abductions increased considerably in the area.
