Pink autos a hit among women passengers in Jharkhand
Ranchi, April 18 (ANI): Its autorickshaws for women and by women. As crimes against women rise, a group of 12 women in Ranchi have taken this initiative to drive autorickshaws exclusively for women passengers. As pink colour is associated with women, the autorickshaws have also been painted pink and the uniform of women drivers is also pink. One of the women drivers, Lalita Devi, said she was encouraged by her husband to join the group. The initiative has been well received by the women passengers who feel more secure now. The initiative has become so popular that it has attracted several women who are learning to drive autos and they are being taught by women trainers only. Meanwhile, President of Pink Auto Drivers Association, Arti Behra, said women drivers in the city have become independent and are being respected in their family.
