Pakistan arrests 47 Indian fishermen

Karachi, April 19 (ANI): Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency (MSA) arrested 47 Indian fishermen, along with 8 boats, for allegedly trespassing on Pakistan's territorial waters. Since the maritime boundaries between the two countries are poorly defined and many fishing boats lack the technology to be certain of their precise location, India and Pakistan routinely arrest fishermen on charges of violating each other's territorial jurisdiction in the sea. The fishermen were handed over to the Docks police station in the port city of Karachi, for producing them before a court. Fishermen from both sides often spend years in each other's jails before being set free and sent home.
