PM expresses concern over increased communal riots
New Delhi, Sep 08 (ANI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh while addressing the annual conference of Police chiefs in the capital today expressed concerns over increase in the number of communal riots and said that police forces need to be re oriented to effectively track the sentiments of the people and inter community tensions as they rise. He further said that the use of bulk smses and social media to aggravate the communal situation is a new challenge. Singh stated that the State police forces must ensure that Left Wing Extremists are apprehended and prosecuted quickly and effectively.
