Nepalis take stock of destruction from earthquake
Kathmandu, May 06 (ANI): Kathmandu residents on Wednesday (May 6) took stock of the destruction in their city, more than a week after a devastating earthquake struck the country. The April 25 earthquake had either flattened or damaged 6,00,000 houses, leaving around eight million people affected, according to the United Nations. Nepal's Archaeology Department said nearly 200 heritage sites throughout the country have been destroyed. Forty-nine-year old visitor said people were still reeling from the disaster. Rebuilding was likely to take a long time. Many countries have pledged money that will be necessary to rebuild homes, hospitals and historic buildings.
