My role in Margarita with a straw was challenging: Kalki Koechlin
Mumbai, April 19 (ANI): Talking about her character in a recently released flick, ‘Margarita with a straw’, Kalki Koechlin said it was a challenging role as she practiced sitting on wheelchair an hour everyday for six months. Produced under the banner of Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, the film is directed by Amu famed, Shonali Bose. The film features Koechlin in the lead role portraying a 19-year-old girl diagnosed with cerebral palsy, who is unabashed about her sexuality and unafraid to explore it. The actress had to take physiotherapy sessions during the shoots as she developed severe backache problems playing the challenging role, inspired by Bose’s cousin. Bose said the film unveiled the feelings and emotions of a challenged person as normal as others. The film released across India on April 17.
