Militant shot dead in encounter in J and K
Kulgam, May 26 (ANI): Security forces gunned down a militant during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir, said a senior police officer. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mumtaz Ahmad said the militant was killed when he attacked a patrol party in Kulgam district and critically injured one trooper. The slain rebel was identified as Ataillah Bhat. Earlier, unidentified gunmen opened fire at a franchise store of state-run telecom service provider, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), in Sopore town of the state, killing one person and injuring two others.
