Maruti Suzukis Manesar plant restarts today amid heavy security
Manesar, Aug 21 (ANI): Maruti Suzuki, Indias largest car maker, restarted production at its Manesar factory today amid tight security, a month after a lockout was declared due to a deadly riot in which one senior company official was killed and 100 others injured. The company, last week, sacked 500 workers for their involvement in the violence and now only 300 permanent workers will be working in a single shift from 8 am to 4:30 pm. The Haryana state government has deployed around 500 armed policemen in the area to ensure safety, and the company had set up its own force of 100 guards in addition to existing security.
