Manmohan Singh condoles demise of Verghese Kurien
New Delhi, Sep 09 (ANI): Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has condoled the demise of the father of Indias White Revolution Dr Verghese Kurien. He was 90. He was 90 and is survived by wife and daughter. Dr Kurien passed away early on Sunday morning at Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital in Gujarats Nadiad town due to age related problems. He was founder chairman of both the Gujarat Co operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) that markets brand Amul and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). In a condolence message to Dr. Kuriens wife, Mrs Molly Kurien, the Prime Minister described Dr. Kurien as an icon of Indias cooperative movement and the dairy industry.
