London business hit by Olympics
London, Aug 02(ANI): Central Londons businesses are hard hit by Olympic effect, as visitors and shoppers avoid the heart of the citys retail, entertainment and tourist industry for fear of overcrowding and potential travel disruptions. The London sightseeing bus company Golden Tours, was almost empty as it took tourists through the streets of the British capital. Golden Tours said it was barely covering costs and the companys Managing Director Nick Palen blamed the Olympics. Most theatres in Londons West End are also suffering, with bookings for some shows down by a third. For CEO of Nimax group of theatres, Nica Burns, the reason is the Olympics, which is stealing the show. Retailers and hotels in central London were also reporting disappointment with the Olympic effect so far.
