Jewellery industry still feels the heat of demonetisation
Rajkot, Jan 19 (ANI): Jewellery industry in Rajkot continues to face the heat of demonetisation, even months after government's sudden move to withdraw high-value bank notes. Jewellery store owners said sales have dropped considerably as customers do not have money to make purchases. The sales have failed to pick up even during the wedding season. Reduced demand from jewellers has kept gold and silver prices under pressure even as the Income Tax Department continues to seize huge quantities of gold in raids at various places, as part of the crackdown.
