JKLF stages protest demanding release of Yasin Malik
Srinagar, Oct 10 (ANI): Members of separatist group Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) clashed with police in Srinagar city of Jammu & Kashmir as they protested against the arrest of their leader Yasin Malik. Malik was arrested by police on Thursday evening from the wedding ceremony of his nephew to prevent him from participating in a sit-in planned by the group for Friday. Malik was to lead a protest by JLKF at the famous Lal Chowk against alleged choking of political space, repeated arrests of separatist leaders and more. However, despite Malik’s arrest, JKLF decided to go ahead with the protest. The protesters also demanded that Malik be released at the earliest.
