International sand art festival begins in Kerala
Alappuzha, April 19 (ANI): The first international sand art festival, Sand Art Festival Alleppey (SAFA), began at the picturesque Alappuzha beach in Kerala, with acclaimed national and international sand artists taking part in it. A collaboration of Tourism Department and the SAFA Foundation, the nine-day festival will be an opportunity for art lovers to get a glimpse of mesmerizing sand art sculptures. Reportedly, popular sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik, who has been involved for years into creating sand sculptures on the beach of Odisha, will guide the festival. Besides the sand art competition, an art gallery and several cultural programmes will also be organised at the venue. The festival, already a hit among tourists, concludes on April 26.
