India reels under severe heat wave
Kolkata/ Kanpur/ New Delhi, May 24 (ANI): Large parts of northern and eastern India reel under severe heat wave, as the temperature soars. The rising temperatures have made life difficult for the residents of cities like Kolkata and Kanpur. The city of Kolkata is experiencing a really sultry summer with temperatures bordering 40 degree Celsius. A resident of Kolkata, Shanavaz, said that he finds it difficult to run his business due to the increasing temperature. The situation in Kanpur is no different and the residents have no respite from the hot weather. Speaking on the issue of rising temperature across the country, the director of Indian Meteorological Department, BP Yadav, said that the lack of rainfall and hot winds blowing from places like Rajasthan and Pakistan are adding to the heat. Yadav also added that May being the hottest month of the year, such torrid weather conditions were to be expected.
