Hindu man builts war memorial named global peace palace for soldiers fighting for country

Kerala, April 27 (ANI): A retired Navy veteran in Kerela has become a model of peace and harmony after building “Global Peace Mahal”, a monument devoted to the war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The Mahal, also known as Shanti Mahal is a small replica of Taj Mahal, and has four minarets, representing Army, Navy, Airforce and the paramilitary force. The idea came to A .K. Bhasura Kumar alias AKB Kumar when he lost three of his friends in 1971 war with Pakistan. Spread over an area of 7,000 square feet, the memorial is located at Thumboly, a seaside village in Alappuzha-about 4 kilometres from the city centre. The entry to the monument is free to all and anyone irrespective of any caste or religion can offer prayers. The construction of the “Global Peace Palace” was started in 2008, and later opened to the public on December 2011. The Palace has a miniature library and a small museum as well to highlight the perils and pains of war and terrorism. Kumar, a peacekeeper, has also written many books to his name-written to promote peace and harmony in the country.
