Heavy rains to lash WB, Odisha as cyclone Komen nears

Bhubaneswar/Kolkata, July 30 (ANI): The low pressure area over the Northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal has intensified into a deep depression forcing the state governments of West Bengal and Odisha to issue heavy rainfall alerts all over the region. The cyclonic storm, "Komen" has begun moving northwestwards of the Bay of Bengal and as a result, over the next three days, heavy to very heavy rainfall will occur at the Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha while Mizoram, Tripura, south Assam and Jharkhand will be lashed by heavy showers on Thursday and Friday, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
