Goa tourism department conducts trial of sea plane

Panaji, May 23 (ANI): The Goa tourism department conducted the trial of a sea-plane in Panaji on Saturday before starting a commercial service. The nine-seater plane took off from the Dabolim airport and landed in the Mandovi river during the trial. The plane took sortie along the river front till Miramar beach and also took off to Chapora river situated around 20 kms away. Tourism minister Dilip Parulekar and Goa Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Nilesh Cabral were present for the trial. GTDC has signed a MoU with Maritime Energy Heli AIR Services Pvt Ltd (MEHAIR) to launch sea-plane services. The state tourism department had recently introduced Hot Air Balloon and amphibious bus services in the state.
