FIBA ALLOWS RELIGIOUS HEAD COVERINGS
It would be music to the Kalgidhar Society’s ear as International basketball’s governing body is all set to allow religious head coverings, such as hijab and turbans on a trial basis in some competitions. The Kalgidhar society last week staged a unique protest at Baru Sahib against World Basketball Federation’s (FIBA) discriminatory behaviour towards Sikh players in the Indian basketball teams in China and Qatar recently.
