Entry fee to Taj Mahal in India to be hiked
Agra, May 24 (ANI): The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of India has approved hike in entry fee to the magnificent mausoleum Taj Mahal in the Agra city. Taj Mahal, one of the most visited world heritage site attracts thousands of tourists every day. The entry for domestic tourists is rupees 20, rupees 750 for foreign tourists and rupees 510 for nationals from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations. With the proposal, tickets will now cost rupees 50, rupees 1000, rupees 750 respectively. The revised rates are yet to be implemented. Apart from the increased ticket fee, authorities have reportedly proposed to reduce the visiting time of an individual to mere two hours. The step is being taken to cut down on waiting period for visitors who spend hours in the queue. Secretary of federation of travel association, Agra, Sandeep Arora, called the proposal unfortunate.
