Congress-led UDF wins Aruvikkara by-polls in Kerala
Trivandrum/ New Delhi, June 30 (ANI): Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate KS Sabarinathan on Tuesday won the Kerala by-polls by over 10,000 votes. Sabarinathan won the Aruvikkara by-election with a margin of 10128 votes while G Karthikeyan won the 2011 polls in Aruvikkara with a margin of 10674 votes. Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that the result of the Aruvikkara by-polls was a precursor for the 2016 assembly elections in the state. Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi congratulated United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate K.S. Sabarinathan on winning the by-polls. The official twitter handle of Gandhi's officer shared the Congress vice president's message."Congratulations to K.S Sabarinadhan on winning the # Aruvikkara by-poll: Rahul Gandhi @Oommen_Chandy @VMSudheeran @KeralaPCC1 @INCIndia," the office tweeted.
