Congress in Madhya Pradesh sit on hunger strike to champion farmers' rights
Bhopal, March 27 (ANI): Legislators of Congress party sat on hunger strike to protest on the issue of compensation for rain and hailstorm-hit farmers in Madhya Pradesh. The protesters shouted slogans against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, showing their resentment. State President of Congress party, Haroon Yadav said the government is being negligent in addressing farmers' issues. Meanwhile, another party leader Satyadev Katare added Congress party members across the country have been asked to stage a similar protest.
