113 Indians rescued from Nepal arrive in New Delhi

New Delhi, April 27 (ANI): Indian Air Force flights carrying 113 stranded Indians from quake-hit Nepal arrived in New Delhi. India had sent 13 military aircraft -- four C17, three C130, four IL76 and two AN32 -- to Kathmandu to ferry Indian nationals stuck in the Nepalese capital. Helicopters were able to fly in on Sunday morning as clouds lifted, to evacuate the injured to a lower altitude, from where they were being flown to Kathmandu. Survivors who flew back to India narrated their ordeal. A survivor Sonam said the situation was very tragic in Nepal. Another survivor Rita thanked Indian Air Force for bringing them back to the country safely. Over 3,000 people have died and over 5,000 have been injured in the earthquake which struck Nepal on Saturday. Rescue operations have been intensified in the wake of the number of deaths.
