Kyrgyzstan: Central Asian Country and Former Soviet Republic

The native Kyrgyz were the Turkic pastoral nomad people who were the first to settle in the Tien Shan Mountains. The Russian colonialisation in beginning of 20th century forced these pastoral nomadic people to surrender before the mighty Russians after the deadliest battle of 1916. The Kyrgyzstan became part of the Soviet Federated Socialist Republic in 1924 and was made an autonomous republic in 1926. It became a constituent republic of the USSR in 1936. Due to its vast fertile land Russians introduced modern farming and industrial production techniques in Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan became an independent nation after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Kyrgyzstan has since adopted several economic reforms in order to accelerate its economy.
