Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders IPL Team

Yes, it’s the same team that perennially manages to remain in the headlines, on and off the IPL pitch. And why not? After all, the team’s owner is none other than reigning Bollywood king Shahrukh Khan himself. Kolkata Knight Riders or KKR is the first IPL team to try out a new four-captain formula, devised by KKR coach John Buchanan.

His experiment is actively supported by Shahrukh Khan, the Kolkata Knight Riders owner but resented by many, including the great Sunil Gavaskar who doubted the logic behind the four-captain formula of John Buchanan, the KKR coach. Even Sourav Ganguly, the bhadralok favourite, is slightly miffed at the KKR four captain formula, although he is lying low at the moment.

Ganguly was the Kolkata Riders captain during IPL 2008 but in IPL 2 the baton has passed on to Brendon Mc Cullum. If the first game is any indicator, the experiment hasn’t taken off smoothly as is evident by the pasting the KKR received at the hands of Chennai Super Kings. Let’s wait and watch before we give the final verdict, though.
