Akshay Kumar was born on 9 September 1967 in Amritsar to Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia. After completing his black belt in Taekwondo he studied Martial art in Bangkok. He used to work as a chef in Bangkok.

At first his career as model Akshay started his Bollywood career with action films but became famous from his Khiladi Series. He made his Bollywood debut with Saugandh in 1991.

Some of the famous films that he has worked in are: Hera Pheri, Khiladi, Mein Khiladi Tu Anari, Mohra, Waqt Humara Hai, International Khiladi, Houseful and Housefull 2.

He started his own production company by the name Hari Om Entertainment in 2009.
